DESPISED AND HATED
DESPISED AND HATED
Dear children of God, sometime we may be despised and hated by our own people, friends, relatives and enemies, with reason or without reasons. Are you despised by your husband or wife? Are you despised by your friends and relatives? God, who is looking into our despised hated condition of our life, helps us to come out of that situation into victory. Hannah was despised by her rival. But God had looked into her despised and irritated condition, and God remembered her prayers and vows and helped her to conceive a boy child. And that boy child became a great prophet in Israel. Dear brothers and sisters, are you despised and hated by your father and mother? King David says in psalms27:10; for my father and my mother have forsaken me, but the Lord will take me in.
DESPISED AND HATED LEAH:- Jacob had two daughters, elder was Leah and younger was Rachel. Rachel was beautiful in form and appearance. But Leah’ eyes were weak and she was not looking fair in appearance. Some time we may not be looking in pleasing appearance and form, so that others may despise and hate us. Outward appearance and beauty is not appreciated by Our God. Man looks the appearance and fairness of the face of man and woman. The lord sees not as the man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. Peter says here that let do not your adorning be external- the braiding of hair and putting on of Gold Jewelry, or the clothing you wear- but let your adorning be the hidden person of heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quite spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious. Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman or man who fears the Lord God is to be praised. Jacob loved Rachel also he loved her more than Leah. When the Lord God saw that Leah was despised and hated, he opened her womb, but Rachel was barren. Leah conceived and bore a son, and she called his name Rueben, for she said, because the Lord has looked upon my affliction; for now my husband will love me. She conceived again and bore a son, and said, because the lord heard that I am hated, he has given me this son also and she called him Simeon. This time my husband will be attached to me, because I have borne him three sons, and again she conceived and bore a son and said, this time I will praise the Lord, therefore she called his name Judah. Our Lord Jesus Christ; had chosen to born in the despised, hated mother’ son Judah’s clan. Your despised and hated situation will change into pleasing and highly exalted.
DESPISED AND DISDAINED DAVID:- David was the least in the Jesse’ family. Samuel said to Jesse, are all your sons here? And he said, there remains yet the younger, but behold, he is keeping the sheep. And Samuel said to Jesse, send and get him, for we will not sit here down till he comes. Now David was ruddy and had beautiful eyes and was handsome. And the Lord said to Samuel, Arise and Anoint him, and the spirit of the Lord rushed upon David from that day forward. Despised and disdained David was anointed among his brothers. The Lord has not chosen his brothers. When they came, Samuel looked on Eliab and thought, surely the Lord’s anointed is before him. But the Lord said to him, do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the Lord sees not as a man sees; man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. Goliath moved forward and came near to David, with this shield- bearer in front of him. When the philistine looked and saw David, he despised and disdained him, for he was but a youth, ruddy and handsome appearance. And the philistine said to David, am I a dog, which you come to me with stick? Come to me, and I will give your flesh to the birds and beast and he cursed him by his gods. The David said to him, you come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts, the God of armies of Israel, whom you have defiled. All the earth may know that there is a God in Israel, and that all these assembly may know that the Lord saves not with sword and spear. For the battle is the Lord’s and he will give you into our hand. So David prevailed over the philistine with a sling and with a stone, and struck the philistine and killed him. Are you despised and disdained you? Because are you poor, least, unemployed, unworthy and little in stature? Do not worry God who anoints you will sure to prepare a table before the eyes of your enemies, anoint your head with oil; and your cup will overflow.
Despised and rejected Jesus:-
Jesus was despised and rejected by his own people, his brothers and religious leaders. He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. But to all who did receive him, who believed to his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor the will of the flesh nor the will of man but of God. Jesus came to his hometown. He taught them in the synagogue, so that they were astonished, and said, where did this man get this wisdom and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter’s son? Is not his mother called Mary? And are not his brothers James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? And are not all his sisters with us? When then did this man get all these things? And they took offense at him. But Jesus said to them, a prophet is not without honor expecting in his hometown and in his own household. He did not do many mighty works there, because of their unbelief. As many were astonished at you- his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance and his form beyond that of the children of mankind. He despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his stripes we are healed. Jesus has taken away our despise and hatred.
