PRIDE, MAN’S FALL—HISTORICAL FACTOR

PRIDE, MAN’S FALL—HISTORICAL FACTOR

BC605-539   Babylon was very oldest and familiar city in the olden history. This city great Babylon was one of the Seven Wonders of the World. This city was built by the great king Nebuchadnezzar. This city was built glamor around 40 km. A river was flowing in the midst of the city. A wall was built above 100m height, on that six chariots will run on the breath of wall, and it was 26m breath’ and 250 watch towers were on the wall, 100 bronze gates were there.

Beautifully erected hanging garden was one of the seven wonders. It was 400m breath and 75m height. Around the wall there was a ditch around the wall, and it was filled with Euphrates river water. There was a big temple with golden idols. There was a golden table and alongside there was a golden man idol with 12m length, 4.5m Breath. So the Babylon was one of the seven wonders. King Nebuchadnezzar was pride about the city instead of being happy about it.
King Nebuchadnezzar had a dream, which made him troubled and unhappy, and his sleep break from him. Then the King called all the magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerer’s, and the Chaldean s, to show the King’s dream. But they could not answer the meanings of the King’s dream. Daniel, a Jewish young man brought to Babylon from the exile. He was a man of God fearing not affected by the circumstances, but he affected the circumstances. He became a slave in his youth but he did not regret about his conditions, and he was a success in his life by the help of living God. The whole history of the world is controlled by God Himself. Daniel knew about the control of God. This is God’s determination and he holds the present, past, and future of the whole history. Now Daniel called to reveal the meaning of the dreams.
Nebuchadnezzar told his dreams, Daniel explained the meaning of the dreams, saying that there is a God in heaven that reveals the secrets. This is the decree of the most high, which is come upon the king. That they shall drive you from men, and you shall dwell among the beast of the field and you shall eat the grass as Oxen and you shall wet in the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over you, still you shall know  that the most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will. Wherefore O king let my counsel be acceptable unto you, and break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may lengthen your tranquility.

All this came upon king Nebuchadnezzar. At end of the twelve months he was walking on the roof of the royal palace of Babylon, and the king answered and said, “Is it not this great Babylon , which I have built by my might power as a royal residence and  for the glory of my majesty? While the words were still in the mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, it is spoken: The kingdom has departed from you, and you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beast of the field. And you shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and seven periods of time shall Passover you, until you know that the most high rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will. Immediately the word was fulfilled against Nebuchadnezzar.

He was driven from among men and ate grass like an ox, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven till his hair grew as long as eagles’ feathers and his nails were like birds’ claws. At end of the days, Nebuchadnezzar lifted his eyes to heaven, and his reason returned to him, and he blessed the Most High and praised and honored him who lives forever. For his dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom endures from generation to generation; ‘all the inhabitants of the earth are accounted as nothing, and he does according to his will among the host of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; ‘and none can stay his hand or” say to him, ‘what have you done?” At the same time ‘his reason returned to him, and for “the glory of his kingdom,” his majesty and splendor returned to him. His counselors and his lords sought him, and he was established in his kingdom, and still more greatness was added to him.

Now Nebuchadnezzar, “praised and extolled and honor the King of heaven, for all his works are right and his ways are just; and those who walk in pride he is able to humble. Clothe yourselves, all of you with humility towards one another, for “God oppose   the proud but gives grace to the humble.
