JESUS DELIGHTED PRAYER
Jesus Christ. 1. MEANINGFUL
PRAYER:- I will pray with my spirit, but I will pray with my mind also[
1corinth14:15] when you pray, do not heap up empty phrases as the Gentiles do,
for they think that they will be heard for their many words. Do not be like
them, for your father knows what you need before you ask him. Our prayers
should be meaningful prayers. Without hope, if we pray then the prayer is no
use. The prayer must have a unique point in it. The unique point in the prayer
draws God’s attention to answer our prayers rightly. Do we have unique points
in our prayers? Without meaningful prayer, we may heap vain phrases to bring
nothing. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that
it might not rain, and for three years and a half it did not rain on the earth.
Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit. A centurion
had a servant who was sick and at the point of death, who was highly valued by
him. When the centurion heard about Jesus, he sent to him elders of Jews,
asking him to come and heal his servant. When they came to Jesus, they pleaded
with him earnestly, saying, he is worthy to have you do this for him, for he
loves our nation, and he is the one who built us our synagogue. The meaning
prayer brought Jesus to do miracles. Let us pray the meaningful prayer to bring
our lord near to us, to do great miracles in our midst.
2. HUMBLE PRAYER: - humility is the great asset in our
prayer to be blessed highly. God delights in our humbleness and humble prayer
too. If my people who are called by my name, humble themselves, and pray and
seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and
will forgive their sins and heal their land. The sacrifices of God are a broken
spirit; a broken and contrite heart. O God, you will not despise. This is the
humble prayer of King David, and he looked unto his humility and forgave his
sins. The humble prayer moves God’s heart to move with compassion. The tax collector’s humble prayer moved God’s
heart. The tax collector standing afar, would not even lift up his eyes to
heaven, but beat his breast, saying God’ be merciful to me, a sinner!” I tell
you, this man went down to his house justified, rather than the other. For every
one who exalts he will be humbled, but one who humbles himself will be exalted.
When Jesus was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to
him, Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under
my roof. When Jesus heard these things he marveled at him, and when those who
had been sent returned to the house, they found the servant well. Humble prayers
heal our land and our sickness.
3. FAITHFUL PRAYER: - faithful prayers bring lot of miracles
and goods. Whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it and it
will be yours. This is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask
anything according to his will he hears. And if we know that he hears us in
whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him. Whatever
you ask in prayer, you will receive, if you have faith. As it is written, I
have made you the father of many nations- in the presence of God in whom he believed;
who gives lives to the dead and calls to existence the things that do not
exists. In hope he believed against hope that he should become the father of
many nations, as he had been told, so shall your offspring be. He did not
weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead .or
when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. No distrust made him waver concerning
the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God,
fully convinced that God was able to do what he had promised. That is why his
faith was counted to him as righteousness. When we pray with faith, then we are
able to get, what is impossible to man.
