TREASURES

TREASURES

Dear children of God treasures are the source of man lay up in earth. The point of question is where we lay up our treasures, whether in earth or in heaven. People are Hunting treasure in the land, island, under seas, mountains, caves, and everywhere they can find. In the olden days people from every country were started to invent and discover new lands, seas, islands and continent to own the treasures. Many wars were happened between countries to own the treasures. Jesus said that do not lay up for your selves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break-in and steal, but lay up for your selves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

The writer of Ecclesiastes, Solomon took venture to get happiness to enjoy everything for himself. He found out the truth of enjoying all comforts, treasures and that was only emptiness and vanity. To discover the truth by enjoying comforts, treasures, folly, and drinking wines, enjoying life with wives and concubines, he came to the conclusion; all are vanity, sorrow and pain to heart. Solomon had also great possessions of herds and flocks, more than any who had been before him in Jerusalem. He had also gathered for himself silver and gold and the treasure of kings and provinces. He got singers, both men and women, and many concubines, the delight of the children of man. So he became great and surpassed all who were before him in Jerusalem and also his wisdom remained with him. Whatever his eyes desired he did not keep from them. He kept his from no pleasure, for his heart found pleasure in all his toil, and this was his reward for all his toil. Then he considered all that his hands had done and the toil he had expended in doing it, and behold, all was vanity and a striving after wind, and there was nothing to be gained under the sun. Surly a man goes about as a shadow! Surly for nothing they are in turmoil; man heaps up wealth and does not know who will gather! Those who trust in their wealth and boast of the abundance of their riches? Truly no man can ransom another, or give to God the price of life, for the ransom of their life is costly and can never suffice, that he should live on forever and never see the pit. For he sees

that even the wise die; the fool and the stupid alike must perish and leave their wealth to others. Their graves are their homes forever, their dwelling places to all generations, though they called lands by their own names. Man in his pomp will not remain; he is like beasts that perish. This is the path of those who have foolish confidence; yet after them people approve of their boasts. Be not afraid when man becomes rich, when the glory of his house increases. For when he dies he will carry nothing away; his glory will not go after him.  For though, while he lives, he counts himself blessed and though you get praise when you do well for yourself- his soul will go to the generation of his fathers, who will never again see light.  Man in his pomp yet without understanding is like the beasts that perish.

Solomon had everything and laid up treasures for himself and enjoyed but he found everything empty and meaningless. But in the case of Moses, he had everything in the pharaoh’s palace and by faith when he was grownup he refused to be called the son of the Pharaoh’s daughter, choosing rather to be ministered with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the rewardDear brothers and sisters now we have to choose the right treasure which will give reward. Solomon chooses to lay up treasures in the earth and enjoyed it and found nothing and finally he said all things are empty and vanity. His fullness never gave him satisfaction. But Moses chooses the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to the reward. Like Moses let us look for reward and choose the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the worldly treasures. Let us layup treasures in heaven and look for reward. Heavenly blessings will fill up. Amen.
