REDEMPTIVE CROSS

Dear children of God, today we are going to mediate the CROSS ‘which is folly to those who are perish, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. Once a teacher asked the student about the CROSS, suddenly a girl answered that the CROSS is an emblem of addition. When Christ died on the CROSS, the relation between God and man, man and man, added and reconciled. People use Cross as an emblem. Whenever they start a work they put an emblem of CROSS. We often forget the important message of salvation received through the CROSS and the teaching about its uniqueness, and the invitation to bear the CROSS in our day today life. We always satisfied with usage of CROSS as our emblem. How pitiable condition is it? We often hide the high spiritual values by draw a CROSS emblem. Our cross emblem should become an experienced cross. Ugly, ashamed and cursed cross became a beautiful one to beautify the Christians by wearing it. Cruel sinners were punished on the cross by crucified on it. How and when the ugly and ashamed crosses become a beautiful one? Blameless SON OF GOD CURCIFIED ON THE CROSS” and he poured out his soul to death and were numbered with the transgressors. Because of that sacrifice on the cross, that ashamed cross became beautiful for his children. We the sinners have to crucify for our sins and transgressions on the cross, but Jesus Christ bore our sins and transgressions and died on the cross to give salvation and redemption.  

IS THE CROSS FOLLY? If we do things wontedly then it will please us; at the same time it is forced to do it then it will seem to be a folly one. Jesus invited us to carry cross for his sake. This invitation or call is not forced, but we have to come forward to accept his invitation or call willingly. If anyone would come after me, let him or her denies him or herself and takes up the cross and follows me. We did misunderstand this Jesus’s statement. We take every suffering and every hardship and every problem as our cross. Jesus did not point out this. Every suffering, every shame and every affliction; comes because of Christ’s name shake and preaching of Gospel. Whoever faithfully follows Christ will suffer and go through the hardship; because the world did not accept Jesus as their saviour and Lord. So we should not under estimate the cross as folly; but we need to be encouraged by Jesus’s words; in this world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world. If the suffering forced on us to bear the cross for the Christ’s sake; it is not folly, but let us bear the cross willingly to bear witness. It has been granted to us that for the sake of Christ we should not only believe in him but also suffer for his sake.

There was a challenge has come to Jesus while he was hanging and crucified on the cross. Those who stood around and under the cross, asked to him to come down from the cross, then they will believe and accept him as their saviour; because the crucified on the cross was folly for them. He should have proved and come down from the cross, they should have believed on him as SON OF GOD’. But he did not do that because he had a steadfast love for us to carry our sins to blot out and forgive our sins. He was on the cross as a propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. He did it for our redemption. But we are not willing to carry the cross, instead we try to avoid and run away from the cross; because it looks folly.

We are not ready to suffer for his cause; when we go through the suffering for the cause of Christ; the world will say that they are strong believers but now they are going through problems and suffering and where there is God to help them. That kind of situation makes us to bear the cross as folly; so we try to run away from the cross. Paul says that whatever gain I had, I counted as loss for the sake of Christ. Indeed I count everything as loss because of surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. Again he says that I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now lives in the flesh I live by faith in the SON OF GOD, who loved me and gave himself for me on the cross.

 

REDEMPTIVE CROSS: - once upon the time, cross was an ashamed emblem; because for the culprits the cross was a cruel punishment, even for the two culprits crucified with Christ. The cross was seemed as killer tree. Those who redeemed by Christ will witness and say cross is redemptive. Christ died on the cross as a propitiation for our sins, not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. We should have hanged on this cruel cursed cross, but Christ took our sins and died on the cruel cursed cross, the cross became redemptive and holy emblem.

When Jesus was sentenced to die on the cross, there was a freedom for Barabbas. He was freed from the jail. Barabbas released who had been thrown into prison for insurrection and murder. The tradition says that he found out the redemption and redemptive cross and saviour. One of the criminals said that do you not fear God, since you are under the same the sentence of condemnation? And we indeed justly, for we are receiving the due reward of our deeds; but this man has done nothing wrong. And he said, Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom. And Jesus said to him, truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise. One of the criminals found out the redemptive cross and the saviour. When the centurion saw what had taken place, he praised God, saying, certainly this man was innocent! The centurion found out the redemptive cross and the saviour. And many more found out the redemptive cross and the saviour under the cross.

 Dear friends, all the crowds that had assembled for this spectacle, when they saw what had taken place, returned home without found the redemptive cross and saviour, beating their breast. Are we in those crowds? Sure, If we find out the redemptive cross and saviour. Then we should not keep quiet to tell the good news of redemptive cross and saviour. Today, many more people did not find out the redemptive cross and the saviour of the world. It is our responsibility to share the good news of redemptive cross and the Jesus Christ the saviour of the world.  Let us not ashamed to boast about the redemptive cross and the saviour. Let us live the redemptive life to bear the cross and saviour Jesus Christ. Dear children of God, let our children be children. Do not make them extraordinary or encourage them or allow them to behave differently. They are not robots but they are living being with heart and feelings.so teach and train them to be children and make them a powerful instrument of God to be a blessings to the world , society, house and others. The teaching of the wise is a fountain of life that one may turn away from the snare of death. A good parent leaves an inheritance of good habits and good treasures of good behaviour to his children’s children. Train up a child in the way he or she goes; even when he or she is old he or she will not depart from it. Let our children receive the parents’ words and treasure up our commandments in their hearts and let them make their ear attentive to wisdom and inclining their hearts to understanding. The Lord gives wisdom; from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; he stores up sound wisdom for the upright; he is a shield to those who walk in integrity.

CRY ABOUT CHILDREN: - Today we live in modern living and fashionable world. Our Children are enjoying sophisticated life. So our children never care about moral values and good characters and right behaviours. If we are not take care to teach the moral and ethical values, then we have to cry. We have to spend time to be with them to teach them to learn even small things to care for their life. Learning is a process, and it never ends; it prolongs to the end of life. Tamil proverb teaches us like this, if you are not bending the child at the age of five; you cannot bend at fifties. Parents are always neglecting the child’s activities of day today life. They say that they have no time to take attention in their studies, moral life, behaviours and good habits. Parents should cultivate good habits, moral values, and right behaviours in our children.

 Once I went for house visiting in our pastorate, there a mother of young children shared about their children and their behaviours. Her daughter did not respect her parents, not even look to the face to speak words or share anything with her mother. If she scolds or condemns her wrong doings, she gets angry with her mother, saying that I will go away from our house or I will commit suicide. She said how to make her right and correct? This was a cry of that mother. Now a day in the schools also teachers are regret about their young students. Teachers cannot punish their misbehaviours and bad habits. Recently a young boy slapped her teacher with a knife and killed her. This happened in Chennai city. Elderly people are very much frustrated about the younger generations. Youngsters never respect elderly people, and they have no graceful heart to help them while traveling or any other needful situations. Cries of the parents, teachers, and elderly people ring in the ears of the homes, society, and churches. How to solve these great problems? These problems are not analysed to find out where it begins?

Children are growing with their parents in the house and learning with teachers in the schools and colleges and growing in the society and churches. While children or a child speaks irrespective words, bad words parents did not correct them at the very moment to teach them good habits and behaviours, then they will regret. Instead of that they delighted in their irrespective and bad words. That caused great break now. When the child becomes or grows big, then the child speaks the same irrespective and bad word, the parents could not delight in it because it causes break in their life.  When young children disturb their parent’s works or other house hold duties; they allowed them to watch unwanted TV programmes and browsing internet.  This permission makes them free to do things without any control. Some parents feel proud about they give freedom to their young children to grow with freeness. One day the parents will cry as they break their parental relationship and family relationship.

CRY OF CHILDREN: - Once a young boy was sentence to death for his cruel act and murder. He was sending to hang, they asked him that his last wish to see any one. He said I want to see my mother. When she came to meet him, he cried, bitterly wept and said to his mother, because of you only today I am going to hang. When I was young you encouraged my bad habits and misbehaviours. That encouraged me to do great cruel things and murder. The sentence is given as the wages for my sins, bad habits and miss- behaviours.  Freedom of bad habits, miss-behaviours, flow of money and Medias lead the young children into great tragedy.  Parents are giving more importance for their children’s education, good jobs, and well earnings. But it won’t give the children good habit and respective and right behaviours to lead a good Christian life. If the child led the good life by obeying parents, learning good habits and cultivate right behaviours. Then the bitter cry may be stopped. Good education, well earning with respected jobs will not give highly regards in the society, churches and house. But the teaching of moral values and training in the knowledge God’s words will help the child.  Not only memorize the bible verses in Sunday school and home page after page will help the children to learn good habits and well behaviours. But train the children to love the lord and to obey his commandments to lead a good and God fearing life. Let us wipe away the tears and stop the cry by feeding the spiritual milk. Let us train them like new-born infants, long for the pure spiritual milk, that by it they may grow up into salvation.

Dear friends, let our children will be trained in a God’s way to love the lord and his words to obey and walk in it. Hear sons and daughters, a father’s instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight, for I give you good precepts; do not forsake my teachings. Hear my sons and daughters, and accept my words, that years of your life may be many. I have taught you the way of wisdom; I have led you in the paths of righteousness and uprightness. When you walk, your step will not be hampered, and if you run, you will not stumble. My sons and daughters are attentive to my words; incline your ears to my sayings. Let them not escape from your sight; keep them within your heart. For they are life to those who find them, and healing to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all vigilance, for from it flow the spring of life. Put away from you crooked speech and put devious talk far from you. Let your eyes look directly forward, and your gaze be straight before you. Ponder the path of your feet; then all your ways will be sure. Do not swerve to the right or to the left; turn your foot away from evil. Dear beloved ones, kindly spend time with children, and help them and train them while they are young and while they are available in the busy world. Dear friends let us go for greens, and live for greens. God created man in his own image and placed him in this beautiful world to live in harmony with everything around him—animals, plants and all of nature. The author Mrs.C.F Alexander in 1848 says in the hymn, “All things bright and beautiful; all creatures great and small; All things nice and wonderful; The Lord God made them all’. Since the beginning of 20^th century, what has happened to our world? What has gone wrong? Is it still beautiful and sacred? The 20^thc is a catastrophic century. Every living organism, plant or animal, other than man lives a life based on need whereas man’s life is largely governed by greed –and therein lays the root of the ecological crisis. This attitude of man has initiated not only the ecological downslide but also an age of self-destruction. The beauty of our planet and the magnificence of its diversity we have dwelt in from the beginning. But how to preserve this beauty—the answer lies in preserving its diversity. There is an exhortation to man to look after the earth and its components with life.

GLOBAL WARMING: - Today humankind is facing a great problem based on global warming. Global warming is a great catastrophe to mankind today. When Edwin Aldrin, Neil Armstrong and Michael groups were landed on Moon on 1969, they had seen the earth from moon as a “GREEN BALL”. And after 40 years a group of astronauts went to moon and had seen the earth, but now earth looks like a “DRIED BALL”.  We have to consider the earth and its warming, due to man’s creeds and irresponsibility; greens become wilderness and desert. The bible raises the question of global warming; how long the lands mourn and the grass of every field wither? For the evil of those dwell in it the beasts, plants and the birds are swept away.[jere12:4]

To prevent the global warming, man has responsibility to manage the greens remain and the concern for greens to keep it alive. In this management man has more responsibility and concern for greens like God’s. God has given him responsibility and concern to govern the greens, animals, birds and natures. Governing is not the meaning of subdue or with selfishness to grab the utilities from nature, greens, animals, birds. Not to occupy the natural wealth and resources. Humankind meant the meaning of governing is right to subdue and right to destroy, but governing means right to secure the greens and make safe to live alive to increase. There are three dimensions to govern and manage the greens. 1. To make safe the land and greens. 2. Utility 3. Greens’rest. God has given Adam a great responsibility to do first is to work and keep the garden’s green. Governing the Eden garden is to keep the garden’s green and living creatures.  Careful and concern is to keep the green, and not to destroy it. Man has the right to name the creatures and natures and greens. That shows that he had a great relationship and responsibility to the keep and secures the greens and natures and living beings. Today man and governments destroys the greens and natures to make industries, four or six way roads and other purposes. Without greens global warm; that reflects in floods, earth quakes, tsunamis, drought and famine.

PLANT GREENS- EAT GREENS- LIVE GREEN: - Healthier life lies on the greens. God allowed Adam and eve to eat all the fruits of trees, vegetables and greens except the fruit of good and evil. When Adam and eve did eat the fruit of good and evil; they start to forget the responsibilities and governing the natures and greens. Let us teach and train our generations to do the right responsibility of keep and secure the greens and love to grow greens to avoid global warming. Actor vivak made interest in growing greens in Tamil Nadu through

Aptul kalam green programme. He had planted greens more than 1core greens in the drought stricken district and throughout Tamil nadu.  Our chief minister selvi J. Jeyalalitha has a green programme to plant and keep alive the greens throughout Tamil nadu. Every citizens of our country should know the responsibility to grow greens to live green. To avoid global warming and its consequences, let us teach and train our children to love green, to eat greens, vegetables and fruit to live green. Today scientists encourage eating greens daily to live green and healthier. Today grow greens to get more rains in our country to avoid drought and famine. Each house should grow at least one tree to get fresh air and healthy environment. We are partner of God’ green plan for the earth and mankind and the living creatures. A medium green tree gives or supplies 2 tones four air conditioner fresh air and coolness. Green trees are inhales the warm air and gives us cool and fresh air freely without any charge.

Let us learn our God given responsibilities and governing to keep the living creatures, natures and greens alive and live green. Try to encourage our children to grow greens and eat greens to live green, cool and fresh. Green living brings green environment and happier and healthier living. Dear children of God, opportunity is given once in our life to achieve great things for God. William carry said that attempt great things for God and expect great things from God. We have given an opportunity to do great things, but sometime we hesitate to do things in a given moments, then we regret for it… whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, but time and opportunity must happen to all. Opportunity means good chance. Good chance is given to everybody, but the good chance is used and activated by few only. In the morning sow your seed, and at evening with hold not your hand, for you do not know which will prosper, this or that, or whether both alike will be good. Let us depend upon the Lord, who gives us good chance to achieve great things. The wise heart will know the proper time, good chance and the just way. So King Solomon asked God to grant him wisdom to rule and guide and do great things for God. God granted him wisdom, discerning mind and great understanding. Do what your hand finds to do, that means use the opportunity which knocks at your door.

Who first stepped into moon? Everybody will answer, Mr. Neil Armstrong. But who is too stepped into the moon first, do you know? Mr. Edwin C. Aldrin. He was the Pilate of Apollo Space ship. Mr. Aldrin was working in the American Apollo air force. Mr. Neil Armstrong was working in the American navy force. So, Neil Armstrong was sent in the Apollo space ship as a co-Pilate. When they first reached moon, there was a command is given from NASA. The command was to land[step in] the moon FIRST PILATE. But the first Pilate Mr. Aldrin had a little hesitation to keep the right or left leg in the moon, that was not the question, but the reason is the moon has no gravity, so it may cause any damage or any harm. Mr. Aldrin had a good opportunity to step first in the Moon. But “Little Hesitation” made little late. Within this fraction of second the next command came from NASA. Co-Pilate next is your turn. Mr. Neil Armstrong, as soon the command came he landed and stepped in the Moon. Mr. Neil Armstrong has used good opportunity of stepping into Moon first without any hesitation. That was the World Record. Mr. Neil Armstrong has stepped moon first on 1969 July 20^th at 10.50 pm. The first man to step into moon was Mr. Neil Armstrong and he made a world record and people from all over the world. 5.28 million people had seen the world record of landing and stepping on the Moon. The world made known Mr. Neil Armstrong. Mr. Neil Armstrong has placed his world record in the American history. America saluted and made known the prestigious man Mr. Neil Armstrong. 

Just one second or fraction of second, hesitation made Mr. Aldrin to ignore in the world history.  Whomsoever it may, who comes first, that man or woman is known and become familiar in the world’s history. God gives us, opportunity to do, with might and wise.
world always remember the first man who stepped into the moon. hesitation and fear always break the victory and famous. hesitation brings delay, and delay brings no history. world history is written differently, because of hesitation and fear. Mr. Aldrin had all qualification and talents but hesitation made him disqualification. opportunity must be utilized with God's help to achieve great record.

Dear friends, let us utilize the opportunity what God gives us to do it with might and wise. Let us do great things for God to bring Glory and honor to our lord Jesus Christ. GOD OF ALL COMFORT

 

^{Dear children of God, today we need comforts from every side of our life. But we live in sorrow without any comforts from every side. The world looks for a comforter to comfort in the sorrowful and critical situations. Mankind wants to come out from mourning, weeping and wailing. No one has to comfort them in the sorrow and mourn and no one has to help them to come out from their mourning and distress conditions. When we lose our dear ones and loved ones, then we look for someone to comfort us in those situations. Sometime we left behind without any comforts. Today friends I like to introduce a God of all comforts, who came down from heaven to become a man to understand their sorrows, mourning to give comfort and peace. He is the man of sorrow and he was despised and rejected by men and acquainted with grief. Surely he has borne our grief and carried our sorrows. He is our Lord Jesus Christ. He says that blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comfort. Mourning means the expression of deep sorrow. Jesus came down to bear our grief and sorrows and carried away on the cross to give us comfort and peace}

^{COMFORTS IN DISTRESS:- David had cried unto the Lord and said, the snares of death encompassed me; the pangs of Sheol laid hold on me; I suffered distress and anguish. The cords of encompassed me; the torrents of destruction assailed me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called upon the Lord}; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my cry, and my voice to him reached his ears. His rod and his staff, they comfort me. When I thought, my foot slips, your steadfast love, O Lord, help me. When my cares of my heart are many, your comforts cheer my soul. Dear friends do not afraid, let not your heart be troubled, though you walk in the midst of trouble, God of all comforts will preserve your life. Again King David cried and said, Lord, my enemy has pursued my soul; he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made to sit in darkness like those long dead. Therefore my spirit faints within me; my heart within me is appalled. God of all comfort led him on good ground without stumbling. God of all comforts comforted David in his distress and trouble and helped him to increase day by day in the midst of his enemies. Today the same god of comforts is ready to comfort you to rise up from the distress, shame and trouble in the midst of your enemies. When Joseph came to the prisoners [baker and cup bearer] in the morning, he saw that they were troubled and distressed. Joseph as a comforter asked them, why are your faces downcast with distressed today?  We have had dreams, and there is no one to interpret them. Joseph has introduced a God who comforts them in distressed and troubled. God of all comforts revealed their dreams to comfort them in their distress and trouble. Dear friends, today we have a God who is able to comfort you in your distress and trouble.

^{COMFORT IN MOURNING:-  our God is a God of all comforts in our mourning situation. Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and} a great crowd went with him. As he drew near the gate of the town, behold a young man who had died was being carried out, the only son of his mother, and she was a widow, and a considerable crowd from the town was with her. She was already distressed, because she was a widow, now only hope of her only son was dead^{, and she became comfortless. No one was} able to comfort her. She was weeping and wailing behind the bier. When the God of all comforts: Jesus saw her and her comfortless, distressed condition. The comforter Jesus said to her, “Do not weep”. Then he came up and moved with compassion, touched the bier, and the bearers stood still. And Jesus said, “young man” I say to you, arises. And the dead man sat up and began to speak, and Jesus gave him to her. Fear seized them all, and they glorified God, saying, a great prophet has arisen among us! And God has visited his people. Dear brothers and sisters, our God of all comforts has visited us to give comforts to wipe away our tears and mourning. Isaiah the prophet came to King Hezekiah, “thus says the Lord: set your house in order, for you shall die, you shall not recover”. Then Hezekiah turned his face to the wall and prayed to the Lord, God of all comforts, and said, please, O Lord, remember how I have walked before you in faithfulness and with a whole heart, and have done what is good in your sight. And he wept bitterly and said like a swallow, or a crane I chirp; I moan like a dove.  God of all comforts saw his mourning said comfortable words, I have heard your prayer; I have seen your tears. Behold, I will add fifteen years to your life. He was healed and restored from his sickness, on the third day he went to the house God to give thanks. Dear brothers and sisters, because of your sickness your doctors may have discouraged you by saying settle yourself and house, you shall die. But today a God all comforts says that I have seen your moan, your tears. I will heal you, this is the comforting words. So do not worry.

^{COMFORT IN SUFFERINGS:-  Even} if you should  suffer for righteousness’ sake, you will be blessed. Have no fear of them, nor be troubled, but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, being prepared to make a defense to anyone, who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect, having a good conscience, so that, when you are slandered, those who revile your good behavior in Christ may be put to shame. For it is better to suffer for doing well, if that should be God’s will, than for doing evil. Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit, in which he is able to comfort them those who are in sufferings. Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trail when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the spirit of glory and God rests upon you.

^{Beloved brothers and sisters, blessed are the God and the father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the father of mercies and God of all comforts, who} comforts us in all our afflictions and sufferings. So that, we may able to comfort those who are in any affliction; with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too. If you are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer. Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort. Paul experienced in Asia, affliction that they were utterly burdened beyond their strength that they despaired of life itself. They had received the sentence of death. But that was to make them rely not on themselves but on God who raises the dead. He delivered them from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver them.

^{Dear beloved ones, the God of all comforts, declare that comfort, comfort my people, speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and cry to her that her warfare is ended. Today your warfare of distress is ended. Today your warfare of mourning is ended. Today your warfare of sickness is ended. Today your warfare of affliction and suffering is ended. Today your sorrow is turned into joy. He gives power to the faint,} and to him who has no might he increases strength. God of all comforts says that your days of mourning shall be ended; so rejoice in the Lord. Jesus said that I will not leave you as orphans or comfortless; my father will send in my name the comforter [Holy Spirit]. When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because the hour has come, but when she has delivered a baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for the joy that human being has been born into the world. Your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
