ZACCHAEUS [ABRAHAM'S SON]

Luke 19:9 "And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house,
since he also is a son of Abraham."

Dear friends’ greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ who came to seek and to save the lost. A man from Jericho called Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus who came to seek and to save the lost. He was a chief tax collector and was rich, and who was seeking to see who Jesus was. When Zacchaeus heard about Jesus and his fame, he wanted to encounter him personally. That lead him to run on ahead and claimed up into a sycamore tree to see Jesus, for he was about to pass that way.

Sometime we may also long to see Jesus and like to have relationship with him. Well it’s good to see Jesus and have fellowship with him and it’s not enough. Like Zacchaeus must have a great change in our life. Zacchaeus might have thought that he only will see, not Jesus should see him. Because he was a rich, short in stature and a chief tax collector. People called tax-collector as sinners. So he was not publicly want to present himself before Jesus, but he hid himself on the sycamore tree. Jesus openly called his name Zacchaeus, hurry up and come down, for I must stay at your house today. Like Zacchaeus, we also are claiming in pride, self-respect, jealousy, and sins [sycamore tree] to hide ourselves. But Jesus wants us to hurry up and come down from them. So Zacchaeus hurried up and came down and received him joyfully.

Dear children of God, like Zacchaeus are you joyfully want to receive Jesus? Let us receive Jesus Christ as our personal savior and Lord to become sons of Abraham.

Jesus came to Zacchaeus’ house and stayed with him and he said today salvation has to this house, since he also is a son of Abraham. Zacchaeus gave place to Jesus in his heart and house. Before that he confessed his sins to Jesus saying that Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor. And if I have defrauded anyone in anything, I restore it fourfold.’

The saying is trust worthy and deserving of full acceptance, that Jesus Christ came into the world to save sinners.[1Timothy1:15] People might have called him a sinner, but Jesus never called him as sinner. Jesus said to the people,” those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick and I came not to call the righteous but sinners. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Let us receive Jesus joyfully in our heart and house and confess our sins and then we will become sons & daughters of Abraham.

Dear brothers and sisters let us heed ear to His calling and accept Him willingly and receive Him joyfully. Not tomorrow but today Jesus will forgive your sins and give you joy of salvation and make you the sons and daughters of Abraham. Let us come down from various status and traditions to receive Jesus as our personal savior to get his joy of salvation to enter into the kingdom of God. To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of god, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. [I John:12-13]
