BLESSINGS FROM ZION

PS128:4-Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the Lord.

Whenever we hear the word, ‘blessings’ it cools our ears and whenever we see others with blessings, we want to be blessed like them. The blessings come from above [Zion]. Zion is a place where God dwells and with his presence he blesses his people. How can we inherit his blessings? The Bible tells that the only way to inherit God’s blessings is to fear God and Obey God’s commandments and walk in his ways.

Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways. The fear of the Lord comes by obeying God’s words. If you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and’ overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Blessed shall be the fruit of your womb and the fruit of your ground and the fruit of your cattle, the increase of your herds, and the young of your flock. Blessed shall be your basket your kneading bowl. Blessed shall you be “when you come in, and blessed shall you be when you go out.

The lord will open to you his good treasury, the heavens; to give you rain to your land in its season and to bless all works of your hands. And you shall lend too many nations, but you shall not borrow. And the lord will make you the head and not the tail, and you shall only go up and not down, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, being careful to them, and if you do not turn aside from any of the words that I command you today, to the right hand or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Next step is to walk in the ways of the Lord your God. Blessed are those whose ways to blameless, who walk in the law of the Lord! Blessed are those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with their whole heart, who also do no wrong but walk in his ways. How can a young man keep his way pure, by guarding it according to your word?

Three steps of Zion’s blessings.1.T he man who obeys and walks God’s commandments shall be blessed by Him. He shall eat the fruit of the labor of his hands, he shall be blessed, and it shall be well with him.2. His wife will be like a fruitful vine within his house.3.His children will be like olive shoots around his table. Behold, thus   shall   the man be blessed who fears the Lord.

The fear of the Lord comes on three things to follow day today life. 1. Reading and meditating god’s words. Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seats of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night. In all that he does he prosper.2. Family prayer- a family prays together stays together. Prayer brings victory in life. Prayer brings heavenly blessings to one’s life. 3. Going to God’s house [church] O Lord, I love the habitation of your house and the place where your glory dwells.ps26:8. One thing have I asked of the lord, that will I seek after; that I may “dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. [PS27:4]But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God. They are planted in the house of Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God.
